We were going to have a mini-TNI reunion last Saturday. I was planning to meet up with heathm and nickmo at the RSL game. I was really, really looking forward to it. But it didn’t turn out.

Anybody else want to join us if we go another time?

I’m the worst soccer fan ever. It was raining, my daughter was cold (and she wanted to go use the buy-one-get-one-free KFC coupon on the back of our ticket.) After New York scored on the 83 minute making the score 3-1, I didn’t think RSL had a chance so we packed up our things and header for the train station.

As we crossed the parking lot, I heard “Goooooooooaaaaaaaalllllllll!!!!” come across the loud speaker. I looked at the time and was amazed to see that RSL must of scored in the 89th or 90th minute. Oh well, they still lost, right? We got to the Trax station and as we crossed the tracks I heard again over the load speakers, “Gooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaallllllll!!!!”. RSL scored another goal during stoppage. There were a group of us at the Trax station getting mad at ourselves for leaving early. RSL ended up getting a tie against the best team in MLS and I missed all the action. Two goals in two minutes at the very end of the game. Amazing.

Yeah.. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I was watching the broadcast. What a game! I love Cletus!

p.s. The guy who scored the last of RSL’s goals, Chris Brown, is a genuinely good guy. I talked with him for a few minutes when RSL was practicing in Orem a couple weeks ago. He went out of his way to say hi to my boys and was super nice. I was extremely happy to see him getting some stats.
