This time it's got a bit of a twist but it's still the same story. I can't see Microsoft suing anyone over Linux. The retaliation would be too great. There are too many companies with a vested interest in Linux that have their own patent portfolios (IBM, Red Hat, Oracle, etc.) If Microsoft sues any Linux distributor over patents, it would only be a short time before a number of other large companies would retaliate. This is just Microsoft fear mongering. Of course, this just underlines the point that software patents are stupid. Write your representatives in congress today.
